Just a clarification: low cost monitors have the same coverage as government monitors. The article you refer is about placement of sensors for *indoor* monitoring. A network of low cost sensors powered by Artificial Intelligence is as credible as a single reference monitor.

Most EPA around the world are deploying or planning to deploy low cost sensors to complement their reference monitors. Low cost sensors are not a competitor of reference monitors, but a complement for increased coverage. Example with the Philippines EPA:

Private monitors are more credible because no one is trying to hide the data given by them. Don’t believe what EPD tells you. We are your voters not them. They don’t care if is successful. We the citizens and voters care!
