This is how disabled people come to gigs if we have access and a viewing platform in the first place. For the people saying that this isn’t the same thing you’re right the atmosphere is different but the concept of viewing platforms is familiar to many check your privilege please

Technically medically exempt from wearing a mask, part time ventilator user with <30 lung capacity due to , STILL for the sake of others not just myself. No excuses, unless you have a legit medical reason.

When I became single 2.5 years post-cancer diagnosis, I realised I had no idea how to date as a ‘sick’ person. I couldn’t find any advice online, which is why I wrote this article. Hope it gives people going though similar a bit of comfort and support!

I can really relate to this, sadly. The first 14yrs of my life was filled with so much intervention to get me walking, get me walking better, then when I lost the ability regardless of all intervention, the focus was to get me bk on my feet despite a progressive muscle disease 🙄

I was a disabled child who was praised by the medical profession for walking up stairs. I was praised for going to mainstream school, for appearing ‘normal’. And do you know what that set me up for? A lifetime of approval seeking, basing my self-worth on others opinions.
