So much of writing is headspace. I have worked out entire stories in my head so look, if anyone tells you “write every day or else,” they are selling you frustration, wasted time, and downplaying the value of your Brain During Commutes and Showers.

Yes. I “wrote” a ridiculous amount of my book just ruminating on narrative problems while driving on the highway between Pittsburgh and DC.
