Yes. Particularly if they're your boss/teacher/parent/or a romantic partner who has financial or other power over you. When someone in that position of power over you uses it, they are *definitely* about to abuse you and then gaslight you about it.

I do volunteer work, from home. 2 hours (minimum) per week, but I can schedule up to 3 weeks off if I need to. When I worked outside the house, or when both my kids needed 24/7 care, I couldn't have done 2 hours a week. No shame if you can't.

This. "Resilience" being prized over everything else. I cried for 20 mins at an episode of DS9, last week. We had to pause it, so I could cry for 20 mins; then, I cried some more when it was back on. That compassion is the thing that's led to the most good I've done, in life.

I had a lecturer at uni who hated the word; it was being used to describe neglected 3-year-olds who *hadn't* suffered structural brain changes, due to being neglected (most do). I loathe the glorification of "resilience" and the related contempt for compassion and empathy.

"Psychological resilience is the ability to mentally or emotionally cope with a crisis or to return to pre-crisis status quickly." In the context of an exploitative system, there is really no way not to hate the concept.

It's a pet hate of my own. When I hear people fresh from "resilience training" talking about "emotional intelligence", "personal emotional responsibility" and "perspective" it makes me gag. It's the latest buzz word get-out-clause for abusers - their victims lacked resilience.

Maybe you're "Alexander the Greater," did you ever think about that? Or "The Greatest." Or... not to take a joke and make it serious, but... maybe we'd feel best if we stop comparing ourselves with others/how we used to be, and just focus on trying to work with who we are now.

If you could, Piglet. You know how I am, with the whole... you know how I am, with this. But if you could lift your hands for Riah, I'd appreciate it.

Sometimes. Other times, I think it's a control issue/flexibility issue. If I phrase something one way, I can struggle to see that someone else's words mean the same thing/both sets of words are close enough to the idea being expressed.

I feel like a lot of the autistic community is overly picky with words in a counterproductive manner. I'm sure I'm guilty of it also. A lot of autistic people struggle to find words at all, and whichever words they choose shouldn't have to be perfect to be accepted

My daughter was like this for 11 years. Last year she agreed to get dogs, if I'd train them to not jump on her. They're puppies; not trained yet. We've had some bad moments. But, she likes watching them, and pets the calm 1 if someone holds him. Would your own dog be different?

Without the "as a joke" bit, I'd be more convinced that the bros are just horny/want physical closeness, too... the fact that they have to "joke" about it makes me suspect someone's catching feelings. Also: giving 7 blowjobs in a couple of weeks is more than 1-2 lonely days.

His looks better than mine, frankly 🤣 I always cut mine to different lengths, because I'm not really styling it, just cutting off split ends etc. I cut his hair while it's curly; so I make sure it's either dry and un-messed-with, or freshly wet and has re-curled tightly.
