For those who buy secondhand books, do you mind notes and scribbles from previous readers of those books?

I detest it. Spoilt by the fact that I have gotten excellent used books in the past,I rarely keep a used book once I find it has notes and scribbles in it.For some,I find out years after when I want to read it. All my 2nd handbooks are bought online,so I can't check before buying

Awww I’m so sorry you don’t like it. As for me though, I love it. I think because every reader has a unique relationship with a book so if a previous owner leaves hints of the POV they got from the book, I take it as an insight into another unique reading experience

I get your point (some readers feel likewise). I treat books like temples (not that others don't). I adore the printed page so much that any scribbling annoys me😀 Maybe I will start viewing the scribblings and highlightings as anonymous reviews😂
