For the love of God, accept where He has you. How many confirmations does it take? You’re expending needed energy craving certainty. Is He not sovereign? Can He not see? Compulsive self-doubt isn’t humility. Your reluctance is undermining your effectiveness. Just serve already.

If you want to know how Jesus felt about women & treated women, read the Gospels. Anything & anyone that does not reflect what you see in Jesus in black and white on those pages may wear a Christian label but never confuse that with Christlike. Jesus is no misogynist. Read & see.

A father’s job, when it’s done best, is to get down on both knees, lean over his children’s lives, and whisper, ‘Where do you want to go?’

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it. Discernment is just as important as skill.

I believe in biblical theology as much as anyone I know, but right doctrine divorced from love & justice is a white-washed tomb Christianity

Somebody asked me recently: how do you overcome cynicism? My answer: start building things. Then there's no energy left to tear things down.

Learning how to say no with kindness to the things not meant for us yields the freedom to say yes to the things we are called to carry.
