If games are art then we have to embrace the idea that they don't have to be fun. Art is not always fun. It covers a wide spectrum of emotions, and concepts. 1/6

I did not make "Everything is going to be OK" to be fun. Making this entertaining, I felt, would devalue the messages. It felt wrong to frame these topics as "fun" because they are not. 2/6

Traditional game design is an established ruleset to accomplish certain things. It's not an end-all. I'm aware of these rules, but I like rejecting them. They exist to create a specific thing and that's not for everyone. There are lots of other things to create too. 5/6

I made "Everything is going to be OK" to speak to a deeper human condition. Focusing on fun, entertainment, and traditional game design would not support this. The intentions where very specific. It's a conscious choice. It doesn't exist to be entertainment. 4/6

It's like a language that you create. You can discover your own "rules". Standards don't exist for this stuff, and I think that's why these sort of "games" are so valuable. Each has it own unique irreplaceable voice. That's a good thing and there is room for that. 6/6

This is something I feel people who play games are expecting - I try to trade fun for funny tho and that seems to be a good trade - I use humour to get through all my issues though so it's appropriate for me

It may be Interactive art, but it can't be a game if it isn't fun. At least not a good game.

This wholly depends on your definition of "game". Most game design books start off by making their own definition, because the individual interpretation of "game" widely varies.

This is fine just don’t expect anyone to buy it or understand it, same as art.
