Context, yes. Green wouldn’t work here for example because of the very popular red-green color-blindness. We test internally and also use plugins like to simulate contrast and color blindness types.

My advise is that she understands what product design means - problem solving. Also reading the platform guidelines. I learned the most when I looked at apps that I admire and tried to figure out why I like certain things in their designs. That's how you train your eyes.
