Alarm Phone Feb 10
🆘 At 14:38 CET we were called by a boat in distress in SAR with approx. 20 people. We immediately alerted authorities in & they said they would send an aircraft to monitor the situation. Aircrafts cannot rescue people: have to send a rescue vessel!

The boat has been in distress for many hours. Since the early afternoon, authorities were informed but refused to send a rescue vessel in its own zone. Now the boat is close to Italian SAR but also denies responsibility. Who will rescue the ~20 people at sea?

The boat is now in Italian waters, just 10nm from . The people are in danger and exhausted, and a wooden boat can capsize at any moment. Yet, Italian authorities told us that they are monitoring the situation, but they are refusing to rescue the people in distress.
