The Managers lies about me will hurt their credibility with Senators who actually heard what I said. The Senators know I never said that a President can commit any crime as long as he believes his election is in the public interest. Yet the Managers persist in telling that lie.

The Managers repeatedly referred to “truth” while lying through their teeth about what I said. I challenge them to show me saying that Potus can commit a crime if he thinks it’s in the national interest. They can’t because I didn’t. They are lying

POTUS cannot commit criminal conduct, regardless of motive. See attachment.

The House Managers in their closing argument persist in their deliberate lies, claiming again that I argued that a president can do anything — even commit crimes— if he believes his election is in the public interest. That is a willful lie, as watching my answer will prove. (MTC)

But that accusation is incompatible with Mr. Dershowitz’ main argument: that and impeachable “high crime and misdemeanor” requires an indictable offense.

The New York Times also corrected Senators who distorted my statement. Time for an apology and retraction.
Some Senators and other critics accuse him of suggesting that even Nixon was not impeachable, despite his clear crimes. (MTC)

Watch my answer that the media mischaracterizes as saying a president can do anything illegal as long as he is motivated by a desire to be re-elected. I don’t say that and Schiff doesn’t say I said it—until the media deliberately distorted my answer. (MTC)

I NEVER said in my argument or in answers that a president can do “anything” as long as his motive was re-election. Totally made up lie by Schiff and media. See for yourself.

Watch my senate speech and hear me repeatedly say that a president CAN be impeached if he commits crimes or criminal -like conduct— even if his motive was to help his reeelection. (MTC)

The American public would be informed better by a debate than by childish epithets such as those that are being hurled at me by partisan pundits, academics and politicians. Please respond if you accept.

Let’s elevate the quality of the dialogue and avoid ad hominems. The issues are too important to trivialize. The debate could be live or on TV. (MTC)

I challenge my critics – especially those who are deliberately misinterpreting my arguments – to a Lincoln/Douglas-type town hall debate in which name calling is prohibited and intellectual arguments must be responded to with other intellectual arguments. (MTC)

I believe Joe Biden is a patriot who cares deeply about the national interest, but he also cares deeply about his family. Under the Manger’s dangerous theory, he would have to be psychoanalyzed to determine the role each motive may have played in an entirely lawful action.(MTC)

Under the Manager’s overbroad theory of motivation – the theory to which I was responding – Joe Biden (who I admire and like) would be guilty even if a small part of his motivation for having the Ukraine prosecutor fired was to protect his son or his son’s company. (MTC)

But a lawful act— holding up funds, sending troops to vote, braking a promise about Syria—does not become unlawful or impeachable if done with a mixed motive of both promoting the public interest and helping his RE-election. Please respond to my argument , not a distortion of it.
