We're privileged to have the best projection team in the biz. Period. They're passionate about presentation quality - sound and picture issues you might not notice drives them nuts. But that's the idea. If they do their jobs perfectly... you won't even notice.

Also, it tends to look better. That's why we try to keep these men and women busy. Preserving and protecting film culture is what they do. They're essential to what so many of us love about Alamo Drafthouse, and they always will be.

Studios prioritize digitization efforts and DCP production for their biggest and best titles. That's business, but you'd be surprised at the classics that aren't available digitally. Often a 35mm print is the only way possible to show a film theatrically.

And if you enjoy seeing films from the 20th century on the big screen, you've got projectionists to thank. Ever get frustrated because a film you loved as a kid has never been released on a Blu ray or digital format? We've got the same issue (kinda).

And they have to master technology that spans the decades - everything from Dolby Atmos to laser projection to handling ancient film stock to running a tricky 70mm print while the director is in attendance. [David and Kiernan at a surprise QT pop-in at THE HATEFUL EIGHT]

What are two different movies that should/could be sequels? Example: Lloyd Dobler grew up to be Rob from HIGH FIDELITY.
