That's as good a reason as any to send them some $ today. I just did.

To us, this is the most important work we can do during elections: give Black people the information and context they need to be more informed civic actors. And we’re committed to this work every day, not just during elections.
, waded through a lot of conflicting information to give Black voters clear guidance how to cast their ballots on the last Saturday before the end of early voting.

On Election Day, poll workers incorrectly sent several of them from their senior apartment building to a voting precinct 12 miles away.
The @CapitalBATL voting stories in this thread, I think, make a strong case for why local journalism for Black communities is worthy of your support this #GivingTuesday, especially if next week’s runoff election in Georgia is on your mind. 🧵
This #givingtuesday, please ignore the distracting and misleading conversation about advertisers fleeing Twitter. Instead, focus on a much more important issue: the longterm effects of advertisers fleeing news publishers for Big Tech.
Quality journalism has never been more important! And it’s crucial to invest in the people and orgs that bring us critical news and information. Tomorrow is #GivingNewsDay, and I am supporting @media_outlier, @opencampusmedia, @DJNF, @CapitalBNews and @flatwaterfreep. 1/7

And with the upcoming runoff election in Georgia, we explain to Black Atlantans the racist history of runoffs and how they make sure their vote counts.
I really love and learned a lot from our "What Black Voters Are Saying" series in Atlanta, where spent the weeks leading up the election talking directly with Black voters, in focus groups and at the polls, documenting the issues they cared about.
We also looked at voter suppression efforts across the country and chronicled Black voters’ experiences at the polls. Many Black voters still showed up despite Election Day confusion caused by new voting restrictions, and they told us why.
There were a record number of Black candidates on this year’s ballots, and we outlined what they wanted to accomplish for Black voters + looked at the reasons — gerrymandering, limited financial support, etc — that kept many of them from securing wins.
we covered the elections *very* differently. If you believe in the work I’m about to share in this thread, you should become a Capital B member today. More on that in a second!
