All true. I did have savings from the law firm years. But not a lot! And j-school was expensive. Glad I made the leap though. It felt a little reckless at the time but finding work that makes you happy is worth some fear.

Sitting at a cafe in LA totally eavesdropping on some screenwriters and film producers next to me. Struck by how similarly tiresome both journalists & film people sound when we talk about "what's the narrative," the "stories I want to tell" & "navigating that space with my work."

So much fun helping you kick off your book tour, ⁦⁦⁦⁩! So glad we launched it from LA, my new home and where Jessie Fremont spent her last years. Great book about a woman who was the engine and brains behind the famous explorer.

So tremendously proud of my friend ⁦⁩. One of the very few American reporters on the ground in Tehran now, who has given us in just a couple days a remarkable window into the other side during this tense time. ⁦
