Basically. Sounds like only acceptable use of openURL is to forward to detail of a piece of info displayed.

Right. So current Evernote, Box, Fantastical, Day One and other widgets are all in violation of this rule.

Resource constrained, yes. But the Drafts widget is basically net zero for resource consumption.

I know. Nothing is clear right now. iOS buttons executing code in a source app seem a no-no but could be broader.
