My AP Lit teacher told me she wasn’t sure I was smart enough to be in her class nor pass the AP exam. Not only did I pass the AP exam but 12 years later I’m full ass writer, have an agent and am working on getting my first book into the world. πŸ’«

Your landlord won't wait for their money. Your electric bill won't wait for their money. You can't pay the grocery store later. You shouldn't wait for your money either.

Yeah for sure. Thankfully I don’t have to run down money often. But annoying when I have to. πŸ˜’

To my fellow freelancers: don’t be coy about getting money owed to you. The day money is owed to you and you haven’t received it, reach out and ask where it is. Don’t wait. Reach out immediately. This is why good record keeping is essential so you know when.

Ahhhhh this is a good point! And true now that you make that point. πŸ€” have you tried Jeni’s dairy free ones? Heard they’re good!

Editor pals, I wrote a long piece about Blackness, witches, tarot, and Sabrina but because of my laptop drama and a number of unexpected delays, the piece no longer has a home. If this sounds like something that might be relevant to your readers or of interest, lmk.

😫 Yeah I rarely eat ice cream. If I really want it I go for the coconut milk ice creams that are really good!

I’m lactose intolerant and will risk it all for most things I loveβ€”Brie cheese, mac & cheese, cheesecake, whipped cream. I haven’t had a milkshake in like a decade because that’s my limit wtf 😭.

Also hustling your parents out of money for more tokens was a skill set. And a scam! The CEC prizes were so cheap and not worth it. You’d gather all those tickets from hitting the jackpot on Hungry Hippo and getβ€”a pencil eraser. πŸ’€

Then the other kids whose parents got there early enough to stake claim to the free booths in the back of the front room where all the performances were. And then the other other kids who had booths near the play area and games.

Maaaaan in the 90s you were a cool kid if you had your bday party at CEC. And there were definitely hierarchies, too. The really lucky kids who got the tables in front with all the CEC branded cups, plates & napkins. I thought I was the shit at 5. 😭
