Carnosine is absent in a vegetarian or vegan diet but a whole raft of other nutrients are lacking too. Depression and neurosis are both elevated in plant based diets.

PLEASE RETWEET There is another silly scare story about Bacon and red meat in the MSM today. Best answer to this anti meat propaganda is this: Pan, oil and butter, bacon and tomatoes, eggs and lid on. The best start to the day in less than 5 minutes.

Food for thought. Processed food. The longer the shelf life on the label the shorter yours becomes.

Cheese eating is associated with lower rates of cardiovascular disease. Milk drinking is associated with higher cardiovascular disease. Confused? It's all about the vitamin K2. K2 places calcium in bones, and without it calcium gets dumped in blood vessels = sclerosis. Cheese👍

Eggs are also the best dietary source of choline - an essential vitamin-like nutrient that most people are deficient in.

Reading 'Nutrition in Crisis". Only criticism is that I don't have it signed by Richard. 😀 Insightful as expected. He "stepped into a world of bad science, self-deception, and a scandal equal to any in the history of medicine." Ditto for me/us all.

I'm sure we can afford to pay a little more for our cashews so these women can get more than £2 a day and not suffer agonizing acid burns all over their hands. Cashew fruit is nasty caustic stuff if you get it on your skin.

That was good old Ancel Keys, wasn't it? The man who was the originator of the cholesterol/heart disease myth.

If the cave paintings and anthropological records are correct and humans ate a predominantly meat based diet, then we would expect to see modern humans eating a meat based diet get healthy- and, perhaps not surprisingly that is exactly what happens

40% of food thrown away in the US and mostly fruit/veg with significant transport/import/environmental cost. Meat less of an impact. All interesting counter argument material. via Thank you

Who is really behind this authoritarian assault on subsistence farmers in Africa? Jail time for using manure makes farmers dependent on chemical fertilisers. Who profits? Heavy fines, prison sentences for farmers who resist inspection - Daily Nation
