tl;dr the "katana white guy on exercise bike" video is fake and made by a guy who is creative director of a company that makes boatloads of cash monetizing other people's stolen jokes and content, so don't share it, and block that dude, k bye

Huge story breaking in Italy. Putin agreed to a request from Lega Nord leader Matteo Salvini to covertly finance his Euro election campaign. The plan was to conceal the payment behind an apparently normal business deal. Sound familiar? via

I’m sat in the court of appeal listening to the PM’s QC say there is no basis to find the frauderendum illegal because it was advisory. Judges have confirmed categorically that had the vote been mandatory the referendum would have been quashed.

Yes! People tend to grossly overestimate how much ‘1 serving’ is in science-speak. It’s just 80g. That’s tiny! 1 apple, for example, weighs 160g. Annoyingly ‘1 serving’ to scientists is about 1/2 of what the public thinks of as a ‘1 serving’.

Wales is the only country in Western Europe without a single mile of electrified rail. We don't have a rail connection between the North + South of our Country. Many of our trains are ancient, cumbersome and not as green as they should be. This cannot continue, we deserve better

"You gotta have the hole dug before you show up w/the body, Sean. Otherwise you're talking 30-45 minutes of digging, and how many people come jogging down the trail? Soon you're whacking joggers and digging holes all f/ing night."

I just realised there might be an upside to brexit. It’ll prove once and for all that the empire is dead and the world isn’t grateful to Britain for creating it. Quite a costly way of doing it though. Books do exist, after all.

Just had a taxi driver in Singapore ask me: 'How's things going back in Britain? No deal??', and then laugh uproariously for a full minute.
