Democrats won't impeach, Mueller won't give them anything, & House efforts to prolong Russia investigation will go nowhere. Whether Democratic elites & their media partisans like it or not, it's time to become an actual Opposition party. The primary is a good vehicle for that.

Venezuelan economist Francisco Rodriguez has delved into the sanctions issue in Venezuela once again with this new paper. His previous paper focused only on the oil sector. This paper looks at the effects on the entire economy. Nobody has more expertise on this subject.

16. The fact that socioeconomic indicators began deteriorating before sanctions does not provide evidence against sanctions. It simply shows that these indicators are impacted by economic growth, which according to our estimates was affected by sanctions from 2017 on.

14. Estimates from our panel of oil-producing countries find a significant negative effect of oil sanctions on oil output, with the estimated effect indicating a loss of around 40 percent in production. Venezuela’s oil output decline since sanctions has been 36%.

8. In the synthetic control method, the difference between the control and treatment is a causal estimate of the intervention effect. According to this estimate, sanctions led to a decline of 797 thousand b/d in Venezuelan oil production, valued at USD 16.9bn.

6. Venezuela’s post-sanctions production collapse parallels only that of countries involved in wars or oil strikes. The destruction of production is similar to what we see only when soldiers burn oil fields or workers deliberately bring production to a standstill.

5. When we compare Venezuela against other oil producing countries, we find that it shows an economically significant reduction in its oil production in the post-sanctions period relative to 97% of other countries in the sample.

Proof positive Obama knew his border militarization would continue the deadly catastrophe that began in earnest with Clinton. Remember the moral outrage over his threats to desperate children & mothers? Me neither.

2014 is not ancient history. Can someone please explain why this was not portrayed at the time as a morally abominable statement?

Schiff/Nadler: - had to subpoena Mueller. That alone undermines fake "cover-up"/"constitutional crisis." - had to drop "collusion." Now it's "Trump campaign’s acceptance & use of that help." That means Don Jr. fielding a fake offer & Trump joking "Russia if you're listening."

Here's one of the bureaucrat-politicians who holds primary responsibility for massifying the abominable practice of caging Central American children & teens, exposing them to rape, dehydration & child separation: Jeh Johnson, Homeland Security chief during the Obama Adm.

The underlying issue of Mueller investigation — collusion/conspiracy — is a joke. It had no legit predicate. Mueller knew he had no collusion early but dragged it out to farcical lengths & filled it w/ immaterial & overblown indictments. Dems’ refusal to see that will backfire.

I’ve never seen a party leadership — & media allies — as addicted to failure as current Democratic elites. Now the specter of Mueller’s testimony will suck up attention yet again until Mueller drops yet one more dud. Only winners here are cable ratings & Trump’s re-election bid.
