Several years ago an unknown artist put 5000 ceramic eggs in the Thames. I've been lucky enough to find 2. I found this one in 2014. It rattles, but so far I've resisted the temptation to find out what is inside! Happy Easter

2/2 their current pupils (2) we will take account of attainment/progress data from national tests/exams. We want schools to be able to use their own assessment info effectively and without us ‘bending it out of shape’ due to our scrutiny.

1/2 I realised following a discussion with smart people today that our message about the proposal to ‘not look at data’ on inspection is not clear enough. So to be clearer, the proposal is that: (1) inspectors will not look at the attainment/progress data that schools produce for

I was holding it all together really well until after lunch when one of my children in school handed me this... She’d taken time during break to write it... Children are incredible...so blessed to be a headteacher...

Where would this be in the new framework? I suggest that a headteacher has the option to play the “dance card” at any time in the inspection. If they can lead the whole school in busting a set of synchronised steps then it is an instant Outstanding in all areas.

Ofsted are going back to lesson obs as a primary source of info (what would you know, watching lessons is more reliable than data) which means, without question, lesson observations are coming back with a vengeance. Happy Christmas from Ofsted 😜

Whenever I think the world is doomed I remember that, right now, somewhere in the country, I bet a 5-year-old, or 9-year-old, or 17-year-old is beaming like a hero because their teacher just made them feel like they can change the world. And one day, they probably will.

Stolen Sentences works a treat! Students start their own work. At some point of the lesson. Students stand up, leave their books open, take a post it note and pen, and go round and read others work! Steal some sentence ideas and go back and put them into their own work?
