Week made. Boys can be tough AND gentle; caring AND brave; boisterous AND beautiful. They can laugh when amused & cry when it hurts. And I don’t care if they do it in a bloody tiara. The first thing they need is a dad with excellent taste in books.

I can explain very simply, in general terms. But it's a lot harder to explain how it applies to me, and to emphasise that it is a sort of all encompassing condition that affects every part of my life and means my /entire life/ has to be worked around it.

To be clear: there is no such thing as 'one kind of Jew' or even one entity 'the Jews' until such time as there is persecution, pogroms and attempted genocide. The Mail is trying to create one OK kind of Jew by persecuting Jews. It is antisemitic Jew-baiting. Mass media.

Saw a parishioner just out of hospital. There he talked to a staff nurse with fifteen years experience, a single mum of two, full time on nights, who depends on food banks to feed her family. FOOD BANKS.

6. Never criticize your child's choice of reading material. Whatever it is - comics, magazines, encyclopaedias, or something you consider to be trashy or worthless - be grateful that they're reading at all.

Currently reading this dystopian MG book from Australia. Set in a world where bees have died out and children do their job instead. Quite horrifying. Which is what really makes it work.
