but then you need a staging queue to decide what to actually submit or not. Maybe it's easier for the task to abort if "too old"

it's true, there's still the problem that if you fly fast the system cannot discard chunks you left behind… thinking about that.

no, i just add the time in seconds*16 to the distance, works like a charm :)

priority was the distance from the player at load time, but all chunks are created on the edge, so it's always the same. Oops!

I started out suspecting threads because it's always threads, but it turned out that the chunk's task priority was basically random… ohwell!

How did it happen that to get permalinks you need to right-click on the tweet/post/comment/etc date? It's not like I'm mad at it but... why?

yeah, but if it can't be "internalized" it's a hassle... I spent 1 hr trying to find a string in a string and didn't succeed :P

for now it seems like a really practical language for its low level. I just hope that at some point it stops slapping your face!

I don’t know if I should be proud or worried, but boy, if you’re going for programming puzzles Rust is great :P

I just actually wrote this in code and meant it: "pub fn find_first_n<'r>(&'r self, mut query: Search<'r>, count: usize) -> Vec<&'r Object>”

And yep, reading code written by yourself in a sufficiently distant past is just as full of WTFs as reading a strangers’ code.
