Indeed. I'm not suggesting the Go approach is zero cost, but the solution is well understood. But to my mind Go has the distinct advantage of having solved the dependency and authentication problem.

Not sure I follow. Node is presumably a requirement in much the same way? In any case, native support for go actions need not involve a go installation

Not only that, the Linux, macOS and windows actions build instances all have go installed by default (just not a particularly recent version in the case of Linux and macOS)

I don't understand this point. Go has strong cross platform support. And it already has a good story behind dependencies twitter.com/_myitcv/status…

When I first looked at cuelang.org, I didn’t get it and moved on. But something drove me to take a second look, and I’m glad I did. I am thoroughly impressed. Cue has a lot of potential, especially combined with Go.

Thanks for the inspiration and the SDK package, @sethvargo. I just posted a blog post using an alternative approach twitter.com/_myitcv/status…

No problem; thanks for the response. I've just published a blog post on how to achieve this today using a thin NodeJS wrapper around cmd/go twitter.com/_myitcv/status…

Suspect they would have legal problems removing takeout, because that would, I think, violate GDPR?

On Monday, Rep. Schiff gave what may be the greatest speech ever given on the Senate floor. I hope you will watch it, retweet it, contemplate it. At the SOTU, a lifelong liar will hold America's attention; I hope you will let these words hold yours, first. youtube.com/watch?v=eUm6OD…

More choice is always good. But so far Cue is my clear favorite. It is written by @mpvl_ who created BCL at Google. While everyone else is busy repeating the mistakes of BCL, he is pouring 15 years of that experience into Cue. And you can really tell the difference.

A thing I do at work after meetings is to write up an "Iceberg Debrief" ... Your communications send both open and hidden messages. The open part consists of the words and content of what you say. The hidden part is what goes on beneath the words—the emotional undercurrent 1/ pic.twitter.com/zXoiMFgpWb

This is our first attempt at a hack night (in a while). So we'll see how it goes. Suspect we'll need to experiment and iterate on format, as well as timings. Will keep you posted!

Trying to gauge interest in a hack night, a couple of weeks after Feb @LondonGophers. Proposed date is Wed 4 March, 18:30, @LushLtd in Soho. No specific agenda: turn up, food and drink provided, ask questions, chat about and hack on #golang stuff. Very ad hoc. Any interest?

I'll be giving a talk about writing a #golang code obfuscator from scratch this Thursday at @GolangSheffield - if you fancy coming along, we'll also have food and drinks while we chat :)

We've just published the notes and video from the 2020-01-28 #golang tools call. These calls are open to all and provide a really good forum in which to bring up questions and discuss ideas around Go tooling. Please join us! groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/…
