More interesting number over time is what percentage of AWS runs on k8s. Think that trends to over 25% before too long....

Wait, tell me more. I’m not sure I completely understand what you’re saying. What percentage of AWS workloads overall are running K8s? Is that what you’re saying?

Right. Clouds started with relatively proprietary APIs, trending to open communities defining their core more over time. See also Kinesis —> Kafka.

This isn't quite a "trending toward", as you suggest. There are benefits to different approaches, abstractions, and APIs. Many of our customers select simpler abstractions that scale, but many also select open source. I do not see a zero sum game here, and AWS invests in both.
