Thanks for sharing, El.
A friend who attained a black belt early on said he was attuned to himself in ways he isn't now that he stopped. He also mentioned a much heightened sense of body awareness like being able to feel toes throughout an entire kick; start, contact, end. etc.

I can believe that, though I wonder how long it takes to become de-attuned and I suspect that it’s partial loss once you get past a certain level of embodied practice (in MA and in meditation).
