This is interesting, but again there isn't much data on what's actually happening in there. Thanks for this.

I think you misunderstood the intentions here. EPFO changes only once a month for almost all the people (unless you switched jobs or triggered a transfer which is again not regular) , which is exactly the same frequency at which Kuvera does a CAMS mailback request.

Unless I see an blog post / webinar of their security/infra setup I'm not giving them my EPFO credentials.

I don't know if they're storing it in plaintext or in an encrypted form, but the data has to be sent over plaintext to EPFO website so someone in the team will have access to it, even if they accidentally log the requests.

A Big FAT Plus 1 to this. I love the platform, but this is just a wrong product decision on so many levels. A passbook import option via email or a form would have been a safer option.

A thread of approachable papers for people who may be new to reading "research". First up, James Hamilton's "On Designing and Deploying Internet-Scale Services" (). Lots of valuable lessons here, many of which have stood the test of time.

It's not that bad too once the infra scales back up in 15 min.

I'm not going down that path of multiple providers again. It does not end well for me.

That's a perfectly valid and logical explanation to the scenario. Because its back up after 15 min. I'm guessing autoscale isn't that aggressive and scale down is cron'd.

When interviewing, don't test for specialized knowledge or skills that can be easily acquired. Best way to filter out good candidates. Test for broad abilities & experience. For the faculty to understand & solve a problem. For skills & ways of thinking that take years to acquire
