So every time I see someone in our community who says shit like "PHP is dumb" or "CSS is stupid", I see my old C++ teacher and remember how he made 15 year-old me feel in that moment: stupid, vulnerable, and unworthy of a life of success and security.

It is with great sadness that I share news of Joe Armstrong's passing away earlier today. Whilst he may no longer be with us, his work has laid the foundation which will be used by generations to come. RIP , thank you for inspiring us all.

I've been involved in DevTools dev for years, and I've both had and heard many good ideas to improve it. It's always a special feeling seeing on of them finally take shape. Latest one to date: detect CSS properties that don't have an effect on the current element. Sneak peek:

While exploring WebPageTest SPOF, I've noticed that 1) It works on Firefox and shows blackholed requests 2) It works on Chrome desktop/Android, but *does not* show blackholed requests anywhere 3) It does nothing on iOS

Hang on: How do you unintentionally add code that asks for an email password, unintentionally add code that logs on and scans the user's contacts, unintentionally rolls that up to prod and unintentionally uploads all that data? 🤔

I noticed multiple inline polyfills for Object.assign indeed in our bundles. It got better after upgrading babel/webpack/uglify though (probably babel but not sure)
