>Byrne described the issue of China as an "existential" one for Australia, according to a source. He argued Australia had never before been in the position where its largest trading partner was also its biggest "security threat".
Precarious indeed.

>"How would you feel if the Russians laid down infrastructure in your own networks? That's how we feel about Huawei," Mr Byrne told Raab, according to sources in the room.

Tumors are essentially corrupted atavistic attempts to build new organs. Cancers reactivate patterns of gene expression for tissue growth and development ordinarily limited to the fetal and early juvenile period. It is unsurprising that angiogenesis and neurite ingrowth occur.

Usually the treated area is large enough to fully encompass the pupil during daylight hours, but not at night-- often leading to visual artifacts like halos and starbursts:

The obvious implication is that it is actually just another quarantine facility.
Given that Chinese people tend to be extremely distrustful of their government and follow rumors to avoid falling into traps, this also suggests the official figures are massively undercounting.

Sleep paralysis is pretty common. Others can be caused by staying up for a prolonged period of time beforehand, but I do not know much of their etiology.

Well yes, obviously. And some basic medical equipment, much visible in the video posted. That was clear from their construction videos.

Drugs once had a much faster path from bench to bedside.
In 1921, Banting and Best started work on insulin supplementation. By 1922 they cured their 1st patient. By 1923 pharma had scaled the breakthrough into production, and Banting won the Nobel Prize.

China is fast-tracking clinical trials for remdesivir. An NEJM study was published last Friday and human trials are starting on Thursday.
That’s fast. It’s quite possible the speed of drug and diagnostic approvals will be transformed by this crisis. twitter.com/XHNews/status/…

Heuristic methods can often find solutions to practical examples of NP-hard problems much more quickly than complexity theory alone would suggest. Even if that isn't viable, approximation algorithms are frequently still useful.
