Hospitality businesses - particularly pubs and restaurants - only have 16 days buffer cash. The challenge of little or no income since 16 March and end of April before govt help arrives is real for lives and livelihoods. That’s why we need banks to release cash now

Very pleased has confirmed retrospective temporary suspension of Insolvency Act to give directors confidence to act, particularly around staff and wages without fear of liability. Something we have pushed for in calls with him this week. Thank you for progressing

Although PM didn’t say it, the written guidance published alongside states that “hotels, hostels, B&B, campsites, caravan parks and boarding houses” must now close “(excluding permanent residents and key workers)”.

Thank you to the absolute legends that are our next door neighbours who came into the pub last night, joined us for a quick pint and then bought a £60 voucher! It’s a times like these the true gems shine 💕

But, and it is a big but, with no money coming in and more social distancing measures envisaged we need more to support people. With no income, businesses will still need to reduce staff overheads and numbers to survive

These measures do not help. Whilst the grant may help with rent payments, they do not help with keeping our staff employed. What do we do?

Big package for hospitality recognising in the front line - business rates holiday for a year for all, £25k cash grants will help with immediate rent pressures but key is to make it available now and who is eligible, additional liquidity - make it snappy - insurers told pay up

I've been told by two MPs that there will definitely be support for hospitality businesses (and their teams) in the announcement from the Chancellor at 7pm this evening. What these are - and how far they go - we will have to wait and see.

A strong message of support in France on top of 75% salaries of workers faced with job losses. This is what we need here if we are to save 3.2m jobs at risk across travel, tourism and hospitality - the jobs which are vital to economic recovery

Thank you! 💕 I hope we get some clarity today, it’s a vile situation for businesses to be in. Hopefully those who are willing to go out will support us all in these difficult times
