💯 this. It’s incredibly important when designing systems in OTP to build processes to be able to rebuild state when it crashes. I tried to make that a major bullet point at ElixirConf last year during my talk

It is with great sadness that I share news of Joe Armstrong's passing away earlier today. Whilst he may no longer be with us, his work has laid the foundation which will be used by generations to come. RIP , thank you for inspiring us all.

All I can think after that list of different techs in the tagline on “Think JavaScript is your only option for the front-end? Think again. LiveView is an Elixir DSL, compiled by Elixir, bundled by Elixir, powered by Elixir”

Here's a TED talk by Katie Bouman, the person who wrote the algorithm that took that black hole picture. (Lets make sure she gets the props she deserves.)

When needing the current time for run-time but not testing for a function, I find it best to add an additional argument that defaults to DateTime.utc_now() so you can swap in any time value you want. It works great for testing def foo(arg1, now \\ DateTime.utc_now())
