The idea that a “customer” should have the power to ruin another person’s livelihood because they had a mildly uncomfortable interaction with them is... Insane. This is beyond video games. This is every industry.

Just read something about replacing "I'm sorry" with "thank you". So, instead of saying "sorry I was late", say "thank you for waiting for me". Replacing negativity with positivity and gratitude and breaks the "i'm sorry" cycle. Powerful.

I wrote this for every woman who's been told her trauma matters less than a man's discomfort. It doesn't, and our society shouldn't tell you otherwise. After Galloway: We must value a woman’s pain above a man’s reputation

"One of my teachers at Columbia was Joseph Brodsky...and he said 'look,' he said, 'you Americans, you are so naïve. You think evil is going to come into your houses wearing big black boots. It doesn’t come like that. Look at the language. It begins in the language.'" - Marie Howe

Someone has forgotten that Britain colonized vast swaths of the world, stole people, land and resources, and displaced and murdered millions.

I just read that Margaret Atwood is being 'lynched.' Lynched. Y'all need to stop using that word as a rhetorical flourish. We've been over this. Just stop.

Elisabeth Moss thanked Atwood and other women who were "bold enough to come forward." That the alleged grand dame of CanLit is getting so much hype in Hollywood as a feminist hero when she helped support a campaign of silencing of writers who came forward to talk about abuse...

A new short article I wrote in Canadian Social Studies, where I ask: "Does this Macdonald-centred Canadian identity actually inspire anyone to be a better person?" Why not elevate those who inspire all of us to be better people.
