my dog nadja and i are watching our backs, patrolling our zone. we're doing as much as we can even though we are greatly outnumbered.

the squirrels are abundant this year. and angry. they keep pushing the boundaries of acceptable proximity. i feel a revolution stirring.

totally. there are one million permutations that would work better than what we have now. it is up to to make that change and redeem itself as a place that supports instead of exploiting musicians.

the reality is that spotify's intention to be a free service was a strategy to be a competitive player in the marketplace, which it quickly became.... and now here we are. it was never reasonable, nor did it ever consider the value of what music actually costs.

there should be tiers, and we should first determine the value of a song and go from there. $10/month is quite obviously an unsustainable fee for the musicians.

cable TV access starts at $60/month and that's for a basic package. is $10/month which promises all the music in the world at your disposal. streaming services should cost more to reflect the true price of what you're getting.

as it stands, it takes 250 streams before an artist makes $1.

the only reason these streaming services are allowed to operate in such an exploitative way is because they have struck deals with the majors. is in bed with the major labels and could give fuck all about anyone else.

anytime someone streams your song you should get at least $1. after that they can stream as many times they’d like. same as paying for a single. these streaming services owe that at the very least to the artist.
