A Goosander brood crossing the River Wear - this was the one time I managed to get a clear background, due to their tendency to hug the banks. I was also pleased to be able to frame them in the context of their riverine environment

So here’s the shot from a special encounter I had with this stunning Kestrel, have you ever seen one perched on a Rhododendron flower? Because I haven’t! No idea how I managed to get a photo but I’m not complaining, definitely one of my favourite ever shots!
