10 years ago today, the decision gave special interests unprecedented influence in our political system. Elections should be decided by the people, which is why I've refused to accept corporate PAC money & am committed to getting dark money out of politics.

On Sunday I was proud to endorse to be New Mexico's next Senator. He is a tireless advocate for his district who fights for New Mexican values. I know he will bring the same type of leadership next year to the Senate

Let’s be real here — the most common use of the word “complexion” refers to skin color. Our words have consequences, and the only reasonable response is to apologize. Dog whistles have no place in New Mexican politics.

We need medical resources, personnel, and safer facilities along our border now. Children dying in the custody of the United States of America is unacceptable. It has to stop now.

and furloughing border patrol agents already in the midst of a crisis. We need a thorough and transparent investigation into these children's deaths. (3/4)

Instead of immediately acting to keep children and all of us safe along our border, this administration forced a government shutdown over a wall. That political posturing has real consequences--forcing CBP personnel to work without pay… (2/4)

On this Christmas morning, we lost another child along our border. Six days before his death, I visited the place where Jakelin Caal entered the US & was detained. Jakelin, like this young boy, died while in the custody of Customs and Border Protection. This is inexcusable. (1/4)

We need a full and transparent investigation into Jakelin’s death and into the the administration's continued failed policies along our border that are placing all of us at risk. (2/2)

The death of Jakelin Caal Maquin is a tragedy. The administration failed to plan for and provide the resources we need on our border to keep children and families safe, allow agents to do their jobs, and protect all of our border communities. (1/2)

The agricultural industry is part of the backbone of southern New Mexico’s economy. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to sit down with farmers and dairy owners to discuss how to address the labor shortage, water scarcity, and regulatory challenges they face in Congress.
