I have reluctantly decided to scrap my current and start fresh. I'm keeping the same universe and many of the same characters, but decided I needed to take a new approach to the story. Feeling good about the decision so far.

The most fundamental concept in writing good dialogue comes down to these three aspects of your characters: ---What do they want? (external/physical) ---What do they need? (internal/emotional) ---How far are they willing to go to get these things?

I don't understand why writers think marketing and promoting is so hard. I mean, I think my technique is pretty powerful....

This is a good point. I think sometimes people over-identify with what they do. I suppose it could be limiting to identify as a writer and then feel like you don't write enough and quit completely. Always more than 1 way to look at things. Looks like you've got yours figured out!

If you're all the way to querying, you certainly haven't let it limit you! Great job! Keep up the hard work.

How we identify can put limits on or liberate us. If you write and hope to make money from it one day, it might be worth it to you to consider identifying with it. If not, writing is a great hobby too. It doesn't have to be a career. You can still call yourself a writer, tho (:

No one aspires to be a writer. Perhaps you aspire to be a published author, but any writer of words is a writer.

Not no one, just people who find the idea of identifying as a writer intimidating. I'm hoping to give beginning writers the confidence they need to own their new identity as writer/author and stop limiting themselves by identifying with the "aspiring" part.

: It’s again. I’m over 8.5K. When did that happen? Let’s support writers under 5K. If under 5K, comment to introduce yourself, retweet, and follow. Over 5K? Follow and retweet!

Okay, so... I might be switching WIPs. I'm not giving up on Destroying Eden, but I have been just ITCHING to write my MC for Lost Blood, and I wrote most of the scene for the climax tonight. It's a scene I've been excited to write for YEARS, and tonight I went for it.
