Oh, and it is certified to operate inside civilian airspace, which greatly expands the envelope in terms of where it's allowed to fly.

This is the face of the U.K.'s new strike drone force. I can't stress enough how significant it is that this thing can be launched and landed remotely from anywhere in the world with a laptop. Also significant: it can carry up to 18 missiles.

Also interesting that the program was heartily endorsed by the JASON group. Around the same time, the group also warned DoD that using low-yield nukes in Vietnam was a bad idea—so not all their advice was terrible...
