Fox Hagg: a great spot to soak up views of , with a varied & dramatic landscape which provides a home to a wide variety of birds from meadow & tree pipits, to redstarts, linnets and warblers.

Our reserves team spotted this wonderful jelly ear (Auricularia auricula-judae) at Fox Hagg nature reserve the other day. Jelly or wood ear grows predominantly on elder - and used to be used as a cure for sore throats.

Beeley Woods from Middlewood to Oughtibridge is truly an ancient woodland where you can find relics of industrial activity from way back when. It really is a jewel but most left and forgotten
