My new report is out today: Saving Britain's Universities: Academic Freedom, Democracy and Renewal. It identifies massification (over-expansion) and marketisation as the twin evils plaguing the sector and calls for the reversal of both. 1/18

I see all you celebs deleting your tweets that supported the charity Mermaids? Wonder why you are doing that.

What I want to know is why it's taken them so long. It's been extremely clear for a long time that supporters of Mermaids have been supporting systematic child abuse, and a deeply sexist and homophobic agenda. Moreover, this goes further than Mermaids.

The 3rd ranking journal in Sociology, has just published this special issue "TERF Wars: Feminism and the fight for transgender futures". No gender-critical feminists seem to have been invited to submit.

Tweets about that Natcen survey from back in June - this is the data presented by today (I guess they had to wait till David Isaac had left, if he was the only person holding them back from publishing this incredibly biased presentation of the data)

Funny how men know exactly how human reproduction works when it suits them, then it's back to "but clownfish!" the moment the reproductive vessels try to talk back.

if adults want to chop off body parts, thats fine. But how long are we going to keep using junk science to convince adolescent girls (many of them autistic, suffering from trauma, OCD, anxiety & other common comorbidities) that they can solve their problems on an operating table?

The debate about the language used in campaigns to encourage women to attend cervical smear tests also provides an opportunity to consider arguments being made about the importance of collecting robust, sex disaggregated data in the census and other major data collection surveys.

I've been watching this play out over the past couple of days. As someone with a PhD in mathematics, and a fair grounding in stats, I can spot the tricks the 2+2=5 twits are using. It doesn't make it any better. SMDH

This is quite something. So goes from talking about how women don't have an identity and don't need one and ten minutes later she's talking about how important it is that trans identity is recognised in law. Nice one Judy. Thanks a bunch.
