Today’s ONS data shows we’re on track with our plan to reduce the deficit. Compared to this point in previous years, the deficit is the lowest in 16 years. Debt is now falling on a sustained basis for the first time in a generation.

For September to November 2018, there were 32.5 million people in paid work in the UK – that is 328,000 more than for a year earlier. Looking in more detail, there were 367,000 more people working full-time and 39,000 fewer people working part-time.
