One more Tarleton State item. If you are in Stephenville and hungry or even if you aren’t then the Hard Eight Barbecue is a can’t miss. Awesome everything!

Big-time kudos to California Baptist’swomen’s x-country team. Not only won the WAC championship Saturday but also became the first in league history to do so with perfect total of 15 points.

As a life long Green Bay fan a win in Chicago to start the season has a special feel to it. Must have been the cheese tie I was wearing.

Back to the real world after an enjoyable Ireland vacation. With the 19-20 season upon us there definitely is a long list of items with which to get started.

My wife and I have a few days to go on an Ireland vacation but already are thrilled with the experience. Friendly people, great sites to see and an incredible history lesson.

Enjoyed working with both GCU AD Mike Vaught and CSU’s Chris Zorich during their time in the WAC . Wish them the best as they move on to other career pursuits.

Had the real pleasure of listening to Vice Admiral and Naval Academy Superintendent Ted Carter today during the CCA Meetings in Baltimore. Couldn’t have been more impressed.

Sacramento State’s improbable run to the WAC Baseball Tournament title had a another highly unlikely aspect. The Hornets faced each of the other five participating teams in elimination games and won all of them.

That is up to Dixie and the WAC members. They can play each other if they so desire, but there is no requirement to do so.

Only those who knew the condition of the then Pan American program when Chris King took it over can fully appreciate the job he did to bring UTRGV’s program to the level it is today.

Kudos to Chris King and his selection as AD at Robert Morris. Have known Chris since my first day as the WAC Commissioner. He did a great job at UTRGV and his direct approach will be missed at Conf meetings.

One-half of the WAC’s eight Spring Championships are complete with today’s final round of men’s golf. Kudos to UMKC (men’s golf), NMSU (women’s tennis and golf) and GCU (men’s tennis) as the respective team champions.

Attended the annual dinner of the Colorado Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Monday to recognize the top prep FB scholar-athletes in the state. What the young men already have accomplished on and off the field is incredible and inspirational.

Sitting with my daughter Shannon at the Braves-Rockies game tonight, and she snagged her first foul ball of the season in the second inning.
