Cones, signs and bollards being taken away at the Cottingham Road bridge in right now - long overdue, but glad it will be reopened to vehicles later today - exact time tbc, but very welcome news!

Last week, announced the start of the process of selling a part of the book in order to raise £12 billion to spend on priority public services. I asked the Minister if lessons of the past had been taken on board, and he assured me that they had.

In order to accelerate the A45 dualling works between and , I asked the Minister of Transport to encourage to complete the environmental study needed before the works can be carried out. Hopefully the study will be now be carried out ASAP!

In light of the recent tragic deaths due to insufficient food labelling reported in the media, on Tuesday, I took the opportunity to state my support for tightening the law, but asked if in the meantime, the food industry can work with the Government to improve things sooner.

Following the recent revelation of the inability of a contractor to correctly dispose of medical waste at a small number of sites around the UK, I asked the Minister about how the backlog would be dealt with, stressing the importance of dealing with it quickly and properly.

I don't deny that others worked on this, but I consistently raised these concerns, pushed for compensation and undertakings there would be no further delays. And I'll keep helping on this. By all means push your chosen candidate, but at least be fair.

Today, I received a welcome response from in which they apologised for delays to the reopening of Cottingham Road bridge, told me the reopening is on track for Friday & promised compensation for affected businesses. Read my full update, here: .

The treatment of victims & witnesses in court is a serious issue and I have seen the toll this takes on the individuals involved. I asked the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice what steps the Government is taking to make further improvements in court experience.
