Virgin Orbit
Call us romantics, but we've always been fascinated by the intersection of art and technology. So when our engineers requested some visual markers on LauncherOne's fins for testing, we figured we'd have our in-house artists make them visually stunning too!

We were inspired by dazzle camo, which first emerged in WWl to make it more difficult to track the heading and speed of ships at sea. Now, we're using it to pay homage to the historical crossroads between creativity & innovation. What do you think of LauncherOne's new paint job?

I think the fact that you put artsy paint jobs on there is super cool! It’s unique and definitely makes LauncherOne more special. Can’t wait to see what other designs you come up with. Graffiti style? Picasso? Ww2 style shark teeth? Camo?

Always loved dazzle camouflage, but does that not hinder the testers tracking the missile? Looks great regardless. 👍

Great question! Actually it will make the tracking process much easier as we have predetermined targets to track! Unlike in WWI, we already know the measurements and locations of certain points—this is essentially a fun play on classic targets!

Why do you have two gas generator exhausts...are there two turbines one for each propellant circuit?
