Lets wait for gaming tests. i5 makes sense if it beats the 3600 by 15% more on average. (1080p high settings). 3600 has an easy upgrade path to 4800x or 4900x. The best we can do with the cml i5 is a rocket lake i7. Which we know little about because no reports on IPC gainz.
