You'll want to start with Salem's Lot for the hardcore James Mason action.

Ooo, haven't seen Suspicion for yonks. Can't remember anything about it, so definitely due a rewatch. I've got Spellbound on the shelf too, which I vaguely remember being absolutely ludicrous.

See also The Trouble With Harry, which isn't great, but still has so much to offer. Very big influence on my early writing.

It's the sort of film that only pales if you're busy comparing it to other films, isn't it? If you just *watch* the thing then you'll have a great time! I bet nobody would bother if it wasn't lumped in with Rear Window, Vertigo et al on numerous box sets.

Also directed by Alfred Hitchcock is "Crowley Time", a new sketch series starring 's Eric Chapman himself, Tom Crowley. It's 22 minutes of fun and you should subscribe to it *now*.

It turns out I'd seen it before and almost entirely forgotten. I know Hitch apparently didn't enjoy making it but it's filled with his trademark humour - breezes by!

Hitchcock's Saboteur (1942) is best known for being released in a DVD box set with many more famous films. It's basically North By Northwest on a budget but still a lot of fun for all that - great villains, travelling circus, and a fight at the top of the Statue of Liberty!

This fabulous man is bringing "Crocodile" to the next week for 2 nights only. It's one of my favourite pieces of dark comedy around and I'd urge you to see it. I'll be there on Monday!

All bases covered by Galton & Simpson: Steptoe and Son for its depth of drama, Hancock's Half Hour for its flexibility of format. Brilliant stuff all round.
