Excellent to see a big TUC union recognise and mobilise the solidarity coming from dynamic base unions The only way the trade union movement is going to survive is through more of these constructive alliances.

ANTIUNIVERSITY NOW Jul 13
Two small - but militant! - trade unions, & , are currently in dispute at 6 London universities, where outsourced workers are fighting for fair pay and conditions. These unis claim to be woke, while routinely enabling racism and homophobia against workers 🤮

King’s creates a hostile environment for their workers where no questions are asked otherwise workers will face suspension or be fired. They purposely pay poverty wages in order to extort control over workers

1/ Re the ban: we are a campaign fighting for the better working conditions of staff. It needs to be made clear that NONE of us have or ever will blame low level security staff. King’s senior management/security IS to blame for these actions. THEY make the decisions

We must not forget that racism in unis exists not only among students and academics, but also towards outsourced workers, the majority of whom are often from BAME and migrant backgrounds, and who suffer discrimination, bullying, and precarity.

Left-wing students are often accused of endangering freedom of speech, but the Prevent strategy has been shown to be by far the greatest threat to freedom of expression on campus, particularly to BAME students.

Disgusting behaviour from . Unis that explicitly monitor left-wing groups, collude with the police, clamp down on protest, accommodate far right academics, and comply with Prevent must stop purporting to care about students' safety & freedom of expression.

With respect the headline isn't "the university is sorry". The headline should read "the university acted unlawfully". Now the police have data on the political dissent of KCL students who face an uphill struggle to have this information deleted
