Any talk of a Green New Deal is empty air if it doesn’t mean saving sites like Orb. Workers are the only class who can make it happen.

Steel is where I started. 19 years I worked in this industry. How much more wide scale neglect does Wales have to suffer before the UK govnt act and offer a strategy to protect our economy, industries and jobs? Boris Johnson can stop this. The UK govnt need to intervene now.

I have written an open letter to the PM calling on him to extend support for Airbus employees & those who work for businesses in the supply chain. I am grateful to all the north Wales, Chester & Ellesmere Port politicians from across the political spectrum who signed in support.

72 years ago tomorrow, Nye Bevan created the NHS. Nye was a conviction politician. He knew exactly what he stood for & he adhered faithfully to it for the rest of his life. He is loved because people understand that quality is such a rarity today.

A very sad day for workers at the Orb Steelworks, which officially closed today after 121 years. Unfortunately our calls for UK Government to step up & invest in the future of UK electrical steel fell on deaf ears. More must be done to protect the future of the UK steel industry.

Both the French and German govnts have come out & invested in their countries, they have committed funds, the UK government should be doing this. They should be investing in these workers.” Regional Secretary commenting on the current aerospace crisis from Airbus

The decision from Northwood Hygiene today to close its plant in Penygroes, is a bitter blow for the 94 workers who will lose their jobs, their families and the local community. We’ll be doing all we can to support our members during this difficult time.

The news that Airbus plans to cut 1432 jobs at its Broughton site in North Wales is devastating for the workers, their families and the local community. UK Govnt intervention is needed now to save jobs & protect our aerospace sector before it’s too late.
