You could always see your reflection, in the church basement floor. Henry saw himself grow from a small child at Sunday school, to a boy at Boy Scouts, to an awkward teen at church dance. Now he clutched his coffee, as the AA meeting began, seeing his reflection once again.

I am an architect and we take hundreds of photos at the start of every renovation project. It helps document the original condition of the house we work on, and the neighbors’. Most of them are SO uninteresting. But for us they are a mine of information! It is so weird.

It is all so horrifically mundane. The mind looking for meaning, personality, hints of strories. What remains is the meaninglesnes of a cold, uncaring universe, devoid of people, except for their architectural relics, now without a purpose.
