YO! You forced students to come to class during a pandemic, you literally pay none of your grad staff a living wage (assuming we get the position), and makes 1.25 MILLION A YEAR. Free cookies really doesn’t cut it. Do better.

Rallying and supporting low-income students could also look like re-allocating some of the MILLION $$$ PLUS salary that just got approved

The proposed $255K raise for President is more than the entire annual budget of the Art History graduate program. Today is the second day the Board of Regents meets to decide whether his 25% pay increase is approved. Let's keep the pressure on.

The UT Board of Regents justified President Hartzell's salary raise to an unprecedented $1.25 million during a wave of staff layoffs by saying that "leadership matters." We agree. Leadership matters. And this isn't it.

“The new president is poised to make $1.25 million a year, $255,000 or about a quarter more than his predecessor, Greg Fenves.” I have grad students eating from food banks but ok

everyone shocked at the UT president shutting down protest of the eyes of texas during "free speech" week as if the term free speech hasn't been weaponized against bipoc students for years. free speech emails often come right after some yt supremacist shit happened in front of us
