We want to address that photos of seven Marines are circulating on social media that are inaccurate. We want to clarify that the photographs that have been shared are of the seven Marine Special Forces Marines (MARSOC) Marines who were killed in 2015.

Elevating TECOM and increasing TECOM's resourcing alone will not be enough to make this transformation successful. It will require every Marine to increase their involvement to ensure their ability to out-think and out-cycle an enemy.

The elevation reflects the significance training and education plays in developing and employing a naval expeditionary force-in-readiness, capable of persisting inside actively contested maritime spaces in support of fleet operations.

Expect to see greater emphasis on cognitive competencies in training and education experiences that are centered on the learner and designed to provide Marines an intellectual edge at the tactical edge in any domain.

Each Marine possesses an intellectual edge that is our competitive advantage in a peer fight. Consider this intellectual edge a new armory for the Corps. We cannot rely solely on technology or equipment solutions; we have to be able to “out-think” in changing situations.
