We're celebrating with a look back at the radioman rate. Master Chief Melvin Bell served as a radioman during WW2, was the first Pacific Islander to make chief, held the dual rating of radioman & electronics technician, & became our first minority master chief.

The Oil Pollution Act of 1990 turns 30 today. Enacted after 11MG of crude oil spilt into the Prince William Sound, the OPA90 created a comprehensive prevention, response, liability, & compensation regime to deal with vessel & facility-caused oil pollution in U.S. waters.

A Station Lake Tahoe boatcrew rescued 3 people after their personal watercraft sank near Sugar Pine Point, Sunday. The boat crew transferred the 3 individuals and towed the second watercraft to High and Dry Marina.
