What about the bleeding cirrhotic? INR and other coags may not be reflective of coagulopathy or thrombophilia. Currently being used during liver transplant to guide transfusions.

TEG provides real time assessment of coagulopathy in trauma. Early trials have shown improved mortality in TEG guided transfusion resus in trauma, trials still ongoing.
